Touch of Love Maternity: Childbirth Education Classes
It is recommended to register 3-4 months before your due date, as class sizes are limited.
Childbirth Series
This four-week series is designed to prepare first-time parents for labor and delivery as well as bringing your new baby home.
Childbirth Saturday
This one-day class covers the same content as the childbirth series above. Class size is limited.
Childbirth Refresher Class
This class is designed to meet the needs of parents who have had a child in the past five years and only desire a review in labor and delivery. The class also includes relaxation techniques, sibling preparation, cesarean section video and a tour of the Maternity Department.
Childbirth Breastfeeding Class
This class is an in-depth look at the art of breastfeeding for those who are planning to breastfeed their new baby or are still undecided. The class is taught by lactation consultants. You are encouraged to have the expectant father and/or other support persons attend with you.
Childbirth Siblings Class
This class is held for children who are expecting a baby brother or sister. The class is designed to help prepare 3 to 10 year olds for the changes that will be occurring in their family. Children are asked to bring a doll or teddy bear and be accompanied by an adult. Children will tour Maternity Department, practice diapering, burping and holding a baby. A slide and video presentation is also included.
Pets and Your Newborn
This class is taught by a veterinarian and is designed to help you, your newborn, and your pet live together in harmony. Many concerns will be addressed on how dogs and cats react to a new baby in the house. Learn valuable tips to prepare your pets.

American Heart Association: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers
This course teaches the skills of CPR for victims of all ages, use of AED on adult and children, and relief of foreign body airway obstruction in responsive and unresponsive victims. This course is designed for health care providers who care for patients in a wide variety of settings, both in and out of the hospital.
Cost is $50 and certification is for two years. Register by calling (715) 717-1600. Classes are held at Sacred Heart Hospital.
