At Home Program (An American Cancer Society Program)
This program is intended to provide products which aid individuals coping with the side effects of cancer treatment at home. The program provides access to pre-selected, basic, durable medical equipment such as hospital beds, wheelchairs and shower stools. It also offers products such as free or low-cost prosthetics, wigs and head dressings. For more information, contact the American Cancer Society Patient Navigator in your area at (800) 227-2345.

Counseling Support Services
A cancer care counselor provides free and confidential counseling services to patients and family members experiencing difficulty coping with cancer. Assistance in accessing cancer care resources, support services and preparing advanced directives is also available.

Eau Claire Partner’s Breast Cancer Information and Support Group
This group offers regular, free, open lectures to the public. Programs are designed for women who have had breast cancer, their families and friends or for anyone with an interest in breast cancer. The group features speakers from a variety of disciplines providing women with support, information and resources.

Home Health & Hospice Services
Home Health & Hospice services are available in a multi-county area in and around Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire.

St. Joseph’s Home Health and Hospice staff includes: registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, enterostomal therapists, medical social workers and home health aides. This team works closely with your own physician to give you the option of being cared for in the comfort of your own home.

Look Good … Feel Better
(An American Cancer Society Program)
A free program that teaches beauty techniques to women cancer patients in active treatment to help them combat appearance-related side effects of cancer treatments.

(800) 227-2345 and ask for a Patient Navigator in your community.

Palliative Care Services
Offering consultative and educational support, our hospital’s Palliative Care services provide comprehensive, coordinated assistance to cancer center and hospital patients and families facing a life-limiting illness, as well as to the physicians and nurses who care for them. The team has a board-certified physician in palliative medicine, a nurse practitioner, a chaplain/counselor and a social worker. A multidisciplinary group backs the team.

Patient Resource Room & Library
An in-depth collection of books, tapes and pamphlets is available for patients and families to use to seek information and resources. A user-friendly computer is available with marked websites for national agencies that provide support services, resources and information on all types of cancers and blood disorders. This area is open 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Reach to Recovery
(An American Cancer Society Program)
Trained breast cancer survivors visit one-on-one with breast cancer patients to share information and provide support during their cancer journey.

The Healing Place
The primary mission of The Healing Place is to provide support services to individuals, families and communities that are experiencing grief and loss issues due to death.

The Healing Place offers programs such as: 

Individual counseling
• Support groups for various losses such as spouse loss, loss of a child, loss of a parent, children’s groups, suicide survivors and others
• Comfort Shawl Group
• Educational programming related to grief and loss, such as grief in the workplace, grief during the holidays and journaling for grief and loss
• Community resource for schools and other organizations
• Library
• Renewing Life workshop for those with chronic illness

Renewing Life
This program provides education and support for participants to help reframe the often negative experience of serious illness into personal growth and emotional well-being. Call for a schedule of sessions at (715) 833-6028.

The Center for Healthy Living
Sacred Heart Hospital’s Center for Healthy Living is committed to wellness for body, mind and spirit.

The Center for Healthy Living provides information and programs such as:

• Holistic health programs such as Reiki, meditation, guided imagery, gentle fitness exercise class, relaxation and stress management
• Nutrition and wellness educational programs and health screenings

The Center for Spiritual Care
Sacred Heart Hospital’s Center for Spiritual Care provides pastoral care to patients, their loved ones and the community in the form of:

• Ethical and spiritual counseling and pastoral and spiritual support to patients, their families, loved ones and caregivers
• A pastoral presence and a full range of spiritual and emotional support
• Spiritual support in times of stress and anxiety
• Daily prayer services in the Father Christopher Chapel, located on the far west end of the first floor (services are posted near the Chapel entrance)
Providing a place of prayer and meditation in the Chapel (open 24 hours a day)

Touched by Cancer Support Group
Sacred Heart Hospital is offering a new support group for those whose lives have been impacted by cancer. The free ongoing support group is open to cancer patients, their families, friends, and anyone else seeking support. Group members share their experiences, discuss issues of concern, and have an opportunity to meet other people coping with cancer. The support group, "Touched by Cancer," meets Tuesdays, 3 – 5 p.m. in the conference room located in the Center for Cancer Treatment & Prevention at Sacred Heart Hospital. Triage Nurse
A nurse is available by phone as a resource to our cancer patients for questions about side effects and symptoms related to treatments.
