Featured Services

“Fresh as a Daisy” Room Service
In addition to quality care, service is a priority for us. As a patient, you can call extension 4021 to reach the “Fresh as a Daisy” request line anytime you would like to:

  • Request additional cleaning, or
  • Reschedule the usual daily cleaning to a more convenient time of your choosing.

This room freshening service can provide alternative cleaning times that are more convenient to your needs. “Fresh as a Daisy” was designed by the Housekeeping Department to accommodate patients that need rest and do not wish to be disturbed, and also to provide alternative cleaning times for patients who have visitors. The regular services is available daily until 11 p.m., but remains available around-the-clock for special needs. 

Lost and Found
The Hospital Security department maintains a lost and found service for patients, visitors and Hospital employees. For service, consult your nurse or call Hospital Security at (715) 717-4375. 

Newspapers
The Eau Claire Leader-Telegram, Pioneer Press and USA Today newspapers are on sale in the vending room on the lower level of the hospital near the Cafeteria. 

Interpreter Service
Interpreter services may be arranged for patients with impaired hearing or limited English language skills. 

Mail
Items addressed to you are delivered to your room. Outgoing mail will be mailed for you if you wish. Stationery, cards and stamps can be purchased by calling the Gift Shop at (175) 717-4231. 

Any items received after you have been discharged will be forwarded to your home address.

Information Regarding Access to Medical Records
If you, or a person you authorize, submit a Statement of Informed Consent to Sacred Heart Hospital, you or your authorizee may:

  1. Inspect your health records upon reasonable notice at any time during regular business hours (8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday).
  2. Receive a copy of your X-ray reports or have your X-rays transferred to another health care provider of your choice. There may be a minimal charge for copies.

A statement of Informed Consent may be obtained from the Medical Records Department.



Telephone and Television

Telephone
Every room is equipped with a telephone. You can make direct calls outside the Hospital by first dialing 9. For long distance, you will need the assistance of the Hospital operator. Charges for long distance calls are to be billed to your home phone. Anyone who wishes to call you directly can obtain your number from the Information Desk at (715) 717-4241. 

Television
Patient rooms are equipped with a television set. Some rooms also have a VCR and DVD player for educational uses, entertainment or relaxation.

 

Health Information & Internet Access

Community Health Information Room
The Community Health Information Room provides high-speed computers and a printer for patient, family, visitor and community use. This free resource is provided to patrons from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week (with staff assistance available during normal business hours) and is part of Sacred Heart Hospital’s Center for Medical Excellence. It is located on the Hospital’s lower level directly across from the Community Auditorium. 

Center for Critical Care Family Lounge
Visitors and family members may access the Internet through computers available in the Center for Critical Care Family Lounge on the Hospital’s second floor. 

Internet Access
Patients, family members and guests are welcome to use their personal laptops to connect to the Hospital’s wireless Internet access, a service available in most areas of the Hospital. You will need a wireless enabled device with a standard Internet browser and a Wi-Fi (802.11g or b) card. This wireless network will either be automatically detected, or you will need to configure your wireless adapter settings Windows Network section of the Control Panel (select “InnovationWithInspiration:” as the SSID).   

In addition to the Community Health Information room, computers are also available in the first floor Center for Imaging and The Family Waiting Center on the Hospital’s second floor. Wired network access for laptops is also available in the Community Auditorium in each podium and also in the floor network access boxes.
