Video Interviews
In this section of our Media Center, Sacred Heart Hospital leaders address the hospital’s philosophy, technological advancements and green initiatives.
Philosophy
Sacred Heart Hospital’s main concern is the patient’s well being – spiritual, physical, psychological and social. The hospital provides a whole-person healing experience and provides care to patients no matter their race, color, faith or national origin. As a Catholic organization, Sacred Heart Hospital’s foundation is built on the Core Values of Respect, Care, Competence and Joy. Investing in employees who are committed to their patients helps to ensure quality care within the organization.
Hear from hospital leaders Steve Ronstrom, Faye Deich and Amy Dwyer about our philosophy.
Smart OR™
The Smart OR™ provides revolutionary care for brain, spine and trauma patients. The neurosurgical suite is a configuration of mapping tools and advanced imagery that enable physicians to track every move through infrared cameras, charting the best path for tumor removal. Before surgeons close, an intra-operative MRI takes a scan. That image allows surgeons to see if the tumor was completely removed. With the Smart OR, incisions are the size of a quarter, trauma is reduced, recovery time is quicker and the need for additional operations is almost eliminated.
Hear from Brain & Spine Institute physicians Kamal Thapar and Phillip Porter about the revolutionary Smart OR.
Green Initiatives
Sacred Heart Hospital’s leaders recognize the link between healthy people and a healthy environment. This philosophy is part of the hospital’s Franciscan roots. To encourage this vital connection, leaders throughout the organization created a “Green Team” to assess past progress and current status of the hospital’s green initiatives in reducing, reusing and recycling. While the organization donates extra food daily to the local food pantry, we also provide food scraps to a local animal ranch for feeding. Sacred Heart Hospital also recycles everything from medical equipment to light bulbs and even porcelain sinks.
Hear from Rick Beckler about our hospital's Green Initiatives.
