About Us
Friends of Sacred Heart Hospital, a division of the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis Foundation, Inc. is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) charitable organization and serves as the fundraising arm of the hospital. As a not-for-profit regional hospital serving community members in western Wisconsin, Sacred Heart Hospital relies on donations from grateful patients and their families, our employees, medical staff, volunteers, businesses and other caring individuals. These gifts, in addition to monies raised from special events, purchase the best technology and services medicine can offer for our patients and their loved ones.
Friends of Sacred Heart Hospital strives to be the catalyst in mobilizing philanthropic resources in support of the mission and values of Sacred Heart Hospital.
Our staff works collaboratively with our Board of Directors, committee members and volunteers to seek out and involve caring people who wish to contribute their time, talent and financial resources to enhance the health and well-being of patients in western Wisconsin. Since it was established in 1983, Friends of Sacred Heart Hospital has invested millions of dollars in patient programs, technological advancements and facilities.
Some of the mission-based patient programs funded in part by Friends include: The Healing Place; Palliative Care; and our hospital’s Community Care program, which funds the costs associated with providing healthcare services to people who don’t have the ability to pay.
Gifts to Friends of Sacred Heart Hospital are invested in cutting-edge technologies and facilities to ensure advanced care is available to the community members we serve. The most recent of these investments is the da Vinci® Surgical System, a minimally invasive robotic-assisted surgical system that dramatically improves patient recovery time and enhances outcomes.
In 2002, Friends of Sacred Heart Hospital launched the “A Time to Build” capital campaign, which established an enduring partnership with the community. This highly successful effort raised more than six million dollars, funding the recent hospital addition that includes the Center for Advanced Medicine and Surgery.
